Fiesta del Roto Chileno

My favorite Festivity is "La fiesta del Roto Chileno".
It is a meeting which is celebrated every year in january. There were some years in which there was no festivity because the year before there were lot of disturbances (that's because you can drink there). In this festivity, you can find live music in the street, people playing instruments just for fun and spend a good time with other people. Everyone dances in the street, there is a great and coloquial festival. You can find also a trade fair with people selling pretty manual work stuff, from food till clothes, or art, books, you can almost find everything you imagine.

Here, everyone can be themselves in the street, and use it as they wish. And this is, obviously,respecting and preserving the security, cleaning everything when it is over.

Another characteristic aspect from this festival, is that one of the famoust moments is the confetti day. If you dont know when you go there, there is no a big deal  because there you can buy some to be part of it (I put a picture with that).

The most important thing here, is that it is an activity which the residents make, according to their likes and needs, to give their neighbourhood life and color.

I actually dont know why it started or when, but...

This festival is more than that,  it is a popular and free carnaval with people taking over the streets, with art, living as a comunity, and for free. Thats why I like this festival.
